‘Vish ya Amrit: Sitara’ is a Hindi supernatural drama serial that is aired through the Colors Channel. The first episode was broadcast on December 3, 2018. The serial is produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms.
The serial is based on Vishakanya folklore, that is believed to exist in India during ancient times. Vishakanya or ‘poison virgin’ is one who has poison in her body and capable of killing others with that poison. In ancient times, people hired vishkanyas to kill their enemies or for taking revenge.
Sitara character played by Adaa Khan is the female lead of the show. Sitara is the daughter of Kuldip Shekavat, a palace manager who is very loyal to his King Shivdaan Singh. The story happens in Rajasthan. Lavina Tandon, who has acted in Jodha Akbar, also plays an important role in this supernatural serial.

Sitara tells the story of a young village girl named Sitara, who is the daughter of palace manager Kuldip Shekavat. Kuldip Shekavat serves King Shivdaan Singh. Having lost her mother at childhood, Sitaara was brought up by her father. Sitara is by nature, an innocent girl who is obedient to her father. The village girl, Chanda is the friend of Sitara.
The serial tells about a place named Baoli, which is owned by vishkanyas. No people from the surrounding villages dare to go near Baoli as they heard of many incidents of people, mainly girls, disappearing from that place.
